“In the biggest languages, the voices sound nearly human.”

“…an impressive natural-like array of voices and great customer support.”

Urdu is one of India's scheduled languages and an additional official language in states such as Telangana, Uttar Pradesh and Bihar. Many families in Lucknow, Hyderabad, Delhi, Bhopal and Aligarh speak it at home. The Nastaliq script matches Pakistan's, but Indian speakers use more Hindi words in daily talk. Choose these voices for Urdu news, poetry events and Eid adverts in India.
Each city has its own colour. In Lucknow, people greet with آداب and often say ہم for I, which sounds polite rather than plural. Hyderabad speaks Dakhni, with haw for yes and nakko for no. Use those words only for a Hyderabadi audience, and preview them, because their Urdu spelling varies.
Urdu runs through Indian films, song lyrics and ghazals, and papers such as Siasat and Inquilab keep it in print. Many Indian Urdu speakers type in Devanagari or Roman letters on their phones. For these voices, write in Urdu script. Indian names such as Aadhaar or Andheri may need a fixed reading in the pronunciation dictionary.

Grammar and script are the same, and speakers understand each other. Indian Urdu takes in more Hindi words and the accents of Lucknow, Delhi or Hyderabad, while Pakistani Urdu often carries Punjabi or Sindhi influence. Choose these voices when your listeners live in India.
Type each misra on its own line and end it with punctuation. Poetry often uses the izafat, the short e that joins words, as in دردِ دل. Add the zer where you want it heard, then preview, and fix a poet's takhallus in the pronunciation dictionary[[C067]].
