Decide early between bahasa baku and everyday Indonesian. Baku, with Anda, tidak and sudah, suits training, government notices and news. A casual reel for Jakarta viewers can use kamu, nggak and udah, as long as the whole script stays in that style. For older or respected listeners, Bapak and Ibu sound warmer than Anda.

Indonesian spelling does not show which of its two e sounds a word uses. Apel can mean an apple or a roll call, and the vowel differs between them; teras can mean a terrace or the core of something. Preview lines with words like these, and set a fixed reading in the pronunciation dictionary when the context is not enough.

Indonesian uses a dot for thousands and a comma for decimals, so 2,5 is two and a half. Write dates as 17 Agustus 2026. Acronyms are everywhere: some are said as words, like Jabodetabek, while others are spelled out letter by letter, like KTP. Write a tricky one the way people say it, and preview English brand names too.

School and course lessons

Teachers narrate explanations for primary school topics and online courses in baku Indonesian that pupils across the country follow.

Company training

Firms with staff on many islands use one voice over for safety briefings and onboarding, so every site hears the same message.

Yes, on a paid plan: paid plans include commercial rights, and the Free plan is for personal and evaluation use only. Starter costs $5 for the first month, then $19 a month.

Preview the line first. If a number, date or abbreviation comes out wrong, write it the way it should be spoken, or add it to the pronunciation dictionary, which is on every plan. One entry fixes that word across the whole project.

No. The two share a base and many words, but vocabulary and some spelling differ. Indonesians say mobil and gratis where Malaysians say kereta and percuma, and in Indonesian percuma means useless. Write for Indonesian listeners with an Indonesian voice, and use the Malay page for a script meant for Malaysia or Brunei.

Yes, for casual content. Words such as gue, lo, nggak and banget are common in reels for young urban viewers. Write them as people type them on social media, preview the line, and keep them out of formal material. Viewers outside Jakarta may find heavy slang less natural, so a light touch reaches more people.
