“In the biggest languages, the voices sound nearly human.”

“…an impressive natural-like array of voices and great customer support.”

Nicaraguan Spanish is the Spanish of the nicas, who also call themselves pinoleros. Choose it for tourism in Granada, León and Ometepe, coffee and cigar stories from Matagalpa and Estelí, or messages for Nicaraguan families in Costa Rica and Miami. Like its neighbours, it says z and soft c as s.
Nicaragua uses vos more openly than most countries. You hear it on the radio, in ads and in public campaigns, not just among friends: vos sabés, vení, decime. Tú in a local ad can sound out of place. Keep usted for banks, health messages and older listeners, who may expect it from a stranger.
Managua is known for directions without street numbers. People name a landmark and count blocks, with arriba for east and abajo for west, as in del arbolito, dos cuadras abajo. Keep that style in a delivery or radio ad. Food words such as gallo pinto, nacatamal, quesillo and the corn drink pinolillo help too. Preview Momotombo or Cocibolca, and fix any misreading in the pronunciation dictionary.

Preview the line first. If a number, date or abbreviation comes out wrong, write it the way it should be spoken, or add it to the pronunciation dictionary, which is on every plan. One entry fixes that word across the whole project.
A few go a long way. Chavalo or chavala means a kid, tuani means cool, a chunche is any object whose name escapes you, and dale pues closes a deal. Use them in social clips and radio spots. In a formal notice, plain Central American Spanish works better.
They sit side by side but sound different. Nicaraguans often soften a final s, while Costa Ricans keep it and give rr a sound of their own. Vocabulary differs too: a nica says chavalo where a tico says güila, and tuani where a tico says tuanis.
