Presentation Voiceover

Voice Over for PowerPoint Slides

A voice over for PowerPoint turns a deck you have already written into a presentation that plays on its own. Paste the script for each slide, direct how each line should be read, and export the narration slide by slide.

Here is the trade, before you invest any effort in it. Listen2It does not open your .pptx and narrate it for you. You bring the script across and you place the audio yourself. What you get back is control over the performance: which voice, what emotion, and a written instruction for any line that has to land a particular way. If you want a deck narrated without touching it, this is the wrong tool. If you care how it sounds, that is the whole point of this one.

The job

The Job This Page Is For

You have a deck. It is finished, or close to it. What you do not have is someone to narrate it, and the deadline is not moving.

This happens in three places most often.

Sales team

A sales team needs the pitch to work when nobody is on the call.

Trainer

A trainer needs the same onboarding deck to play for every new starter without delivering it live forty times.

Student or researcher

A student or researcher needs a recorded presentation submitted as a file.

In all three the script already exists, usually in the speaker notes. The work is not writing. The work is turning writing into audio that matches the slides.

The same presentation voice over works whether the deck lives in PowerPoint, Google Slides or Keynote, because what you export is audio and you place it yourself.

How it works

How To Do A Voiceover On PowerPoint

01

Bring the script across in one step

Export your speaker notes and import the file. In PowerPoint, File > Export > Create Handouts writes your notes to Word, and printing the notes pages to PDF does the same thing. Listen2It imports .txt, .docx and .pdf, or a URL.

That moves a whole deck's script in one step instead of slide by slide. You can also paste each slide's script directly if the deck is short.

One block per slide is the part that matters. It is what lets you export per slide and re-export one slide later.

Whether you call it a PPT voice over or a PowerPoint voiceover, the job is the same: the deck stays where it is and the audio is built beside it.

Choose how it should sound

Pick a voice from the catalogue of 1,411 voices. Voices come in three quality tiers, Emotional, Premium and Standard, so a customer-facing pitch and an internal update do not have to use the same one.

Then set the delivery, per block, in one of two ways. Either choose one of the 7 emotion presets, which applies a matched sample of the voice and is the most consistent option. Or leave the presets alone and write the direction yourself: pitch, volume, pace and texture, in a few words.

You pick one or the other, not both. The writing box appears only when no preset is selected. Written direction has no matched voice sample behind it, so expect a little less consistency in the speaker's timbre than a preset gives you. Use it on the lines where the reading matters more than the match.

03

Fit the audio to the slide

Add pauses where you want the audience to read rather than listen. Set pronunciation for product names and acronyms once, so the same word is not read two different ways on two different slides.

Export

Export as MP3, as a voice and music mix, or as SRT captions. Captions matter more here than people expect. Most decks are watched at least once with the sound off.

Timing

Will A Voice Over For PowerPoint Line Up With My Slides?

Yes, because you build it per slide rather than per deck. One block per slide gives one audio file per slide. You place each file on its own slide in PowerPoint and set it to play automatically. The slide advances when the audio ends.

When you change one line

Regenerate that block and replace that one file. You do not re-record the deck. This is the single biggest difference from recording yourself, and it is why people who have tried recording come back to this.

What this does not do

It does not open your .pptx, read your slides and write itself into the file. That is a deliberate boundary, not a gap waiting to be filled. Listen2It makes audio; the placing is yours.

When a human is better

A keynote, a brand film, or anything where the performance is the point. A synthetic voice reads well. It does not hold a room.
